
Beach Volleyball Signs Four From Class of 2022

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin beach volleyball program announced four signees this afternoon in Abigail Elder, Ansley Gulledge, Katherine Hansen, Gracie McArthur.
Abigail Elder – 5-10
Abigail is a split blocker from Haslet, Texas where she graduated from V.R. Eaton High School in 2019. She is making her way to SFA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe where she previously attended. In the 2021 season, Abigail finished with the second most wins of any ULM pair with 20. She earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science as a Magna Cum Laude.
Ansley Gulledge – 5-9
Ansley comes to SFA from Canton, Georgia where she currently attends Cherokee High School. For the Cherokee indoor volleyball team during the 2022-2023 season, Ansley recorded 104 kills, 18 total blocks, 148 digs, and 36 assists. She was also awarded Second Team All-Region 7A in 2020 and 2022. Some of her beach volleyball awards include JVA Best in Beach List 2021, JVA Watch List 2021 and 2022, 1st place in 2022 Atlanta USAV Nationals Qualifier, and 1st place in 2022 Atlanta AVP Nationals Qualifier.
Katherine Hansen – 5-6
Katherine makes her way to the sand pits in Nacogdoches from Austin, Texas where she currently attends James Bowie High School. During her time at James Bowie, Katherine recorded 1100 career kills, got awarded 2021 1st Team All-District, 2020 2nd Team All-District, and the Bulldawg award, which goes out to someone who has been on varsity for all four years, and goes on to play at the next level. Some of her notable beach accomplishments include 2nd place in 2021 AVP Nationals, ranked 2nd in Texas for beach (TBV Rankings), and apart of MADsand Best of the Beach award in 2022. Katherine also excels in the classroom where she is a member of the National Honor Society, 2019-2022 Academic All-District, top 10% of the class in 2019, top 20% of the class in 2022, and has a 4.0 GPA.
Gracie McArthur – 6-2
Gracie is making the transition from indoor to beach volleyball as she comes from Gilbert, Arizona to Nacogdoches. She currently attends American Leadership Academy – Gilbert North, where she played indoor volleyball up until this past May. During the 2020-2021 season, Gracie recorded 49 kills and 25 total blocks.
