FRISCO, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks landed not only one pair on the All-Southland Conference list, but two. Paige Schieferstein and Jorden Jaimes have been named members of the All-Southland Conference Second Team, per the Southland Conference office.
The two went 3-3 this season as a pair, contributing one victory at No. 2 and two victories at No. 3. In the 2021 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Tournament, the pair picked up two wins over Southeastern Louisiana and Houston Baptist in the No. 3 slot.
"Senior/Freshman partnerships can sometimes be tricky, but Paige and Jorden brought a balance to each other that truly allowed both of them to shine," said Head Coach Alex Luna. "Paige brought maturity and confidence to the partnership and Jorden stepped up into a big role as a freshman and competed admirably against top seeds."
Individually, Jaimes garnered nine total wins in her first season as a Ladyjack, with six of those at No. 2.
Schieferstein, a senior, played in the top three spots at least three times over the span of the 2021 season. She gathered two wins at No. 1, one at No. 2 and six at No. 3 to complete her senior season.
"We will miss Paige's leadership and I'm glad she earned some well-deserved recognition to cap off her career and her personal growth," Luna added. "After being thrown into the fire early, we're excited to see Jorden come back next year and convert some of these two-point losses to even more victories."
The Ladyjacks finished 10-14 in its inaugural season, highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the 2021 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championship.
