Olivia Unnasch and Iris Fletcher Collect All-Southland Conference Second Team Honors

FRISCO, Texas – SFA's very own Olivia Unnasch and Iris Fletcher received All-Southland Conference Second Team Honors for the 2021 season, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Unnasch and Fletcher, a freshman and a junior, completed the year with a record of 10-5, racking up eight of those wins at No. 1 and two at No. 2. The pair notched the best record on the team as well, winning seven of their last 10 matches this season.
"Iris and Liv found an incredible groove throughout the season and displayed an unapologetically high level of competitiveness against our opponents," said Head Coach Alex Luna. "Having a pair represent themselves so well at the number 1 spot in the lineup has pushed our program forward and they're extremely deserving of this recognition."
The pair has consistently risen to the occasion, most notably against the 2021 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Champion, Houston Baptist. In the four matches against HBU, Unnasch and Fletcher defeated the Huskies in all four occasions at the No. 1 spot. The duo only fell in two SLC matchups.
"Their partnership is a beautiful combination of passion and intelligence, and as such, they have been and continue to be an example to our team of where we want to go," added Coach Luna.
Fletcher grabbed a team-high 14 wins this year, with Unnasch snagging 12 total.
The Ladyjacks finished 10-14 in its inaugural season, highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the 2021 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championship.
