NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The SFA women's basketball team welcomes Erin Mills-Reid as the new assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Ladyjack program, Head Coach Mark Kellogg announced this week.
Mills-Reid arrives in Nacogdoches with six years of experience as an associate head coach at Air Force, including previous stops at Cincinnati, Army West Point, Bloomfield College and Mercyhurst.
"We are really excited to welcome Erin and her family to our Ladyjack basketball program," said Head Coach Mark Kellogg. Erin has extensive coaching experience and an undeniable passion for developing student-athletes. Her energy and excitement are contagious and will be quickly felt within our program. Erin will be our recruiting coordinator and assist in every aspect of our program as well. There is no doubt the Ladyjacks got better today."
In 2019-20, Mills-Reid guided the Air Force women's basketball team to an up-trending season, as the Falcons finished with a 7-11 record in the Mountain West Conference. This win total landed in the No. 1 spot in the program's most single-season conference wins since Air Force joined the conference in 1999-2000.
The recruiting aspect has been important for Mills-Reid throughout her assistant coaching tenure, but her recent success at Air Force has stood out from the rest. As Air Force's recruiting coordinator, Mills-Reid was able to formulate three Mountain West top-three recruiting classes. She has been able to notch numerous top prospects in the nation, which has been critical due to the Falcons notching as many Mountain West Conference games in her prior five years versus the previous 16 seasons combined.
Prior to her time at Cincinnati, Mills-Reid spent five seasons at Army West Point as an assistant women's basketball coach and associate recruiting coordinator.
Mills-Reid was a critical factor in the Black Knights' second all-time NCAA tournament appearance as a Division I program in 2013-14, grabbing a 13 seed.
Mills-Reid is married to Blake Reid, Key Account Manager for Riddell, and they have two sons, Hayden and Carter.
"I'd like to thank Coach Mark Kellogg and Athletic Director Ryan Ivey for welcoming me into the Ladyjack Women's Basketball family," said Mills-Reid. "It's an honor to work for one of the most prestigious programs, not only in Texas, but throughout the country. Coach Kellogg is a highly respected and incredible coach, and my family and I could not be more excited to join the Nacogdoches community."
