Ladyjacks Complete SLC Regular Season 14-0; Defeat ‘Kats 69-57 on Saturday

Huntsville, Texas -- The SFA Ladyjacks (22-2, 14-0) finished the regular season undefeated in SLC play topped off with a hard fought 69-57 victory against the Sam Houston Bearkats (13-7, 9-5) at Johnson Coliseum Saturday.
How It Happened
The Ladyjacks jumped out to an 8-0 lead to make the first impression in the first quarter, but the Bearkats stayed within reach during the first half trimming the SFA lead to six (24-18) at 7:04 in the second quarter, only trailing the Ladyjacks 37-26 at the half. The second half was tight between the two teams, with the Ladyjacks outscoring the Bearkats 32-31 in the second half to grab the road win.
Zya Nugent led all Ladyjack scorers with 14 points and nine rebounds, followed by Alyssa Mayfield (13 points and eight rebounds) and Stephanie Visscher (12 points, six rebounds and five steals).
SFA outscored the 'Kats in points in the paint (42-28), fast break points (11-2), and second chance points (18-11).
