The SFA basketball team dropped to 4-2 on the season as they fell to Saint Louis, 79-68, in the Cancun Challenge Riviera Division Championship game.
It was a back-and-forth first half as the 'Jacks worked hard on both sides of the ball, keeping up with an impressive Biliken team before falling behind by 12 at the half. Keller's squad didn't back down, holding Saint Louis to just 27.6% shooting in the second half while cutting the deficit to just 4 points with just over six minutes remaining in the game. However, a few late free throws from Saint Louis comeback attempt fell just short.
Sadaidriene Hall led the 'Jacks off the bench, scoring 14 points while adding 7 rebounds and 3 blocks to his name as well. Foul trouble kept David Kachelries and Gavin Kensmil limited in the second half, but that did not stop the senior leaders from making an impact, finishing with 12 and 11 points respectively.
Despite the loss, the Lumberjacks once again dominated inside, outscoring Saint Louis 42-24 in the paint.
The 'Jacks will look to build off of an impressive tournament performance as they head to Natchitoches, Louisiana to take on old rivals Northwestern State on Sunday, November 28th at 3:00 p.m.
