
Visscher Boosts @SFA_WBB Over Texas A&M Corpus Christi For Southland Conference Win #2, 100-41

NACOGDOCHES, Texas --
The SFA women's basketball team generated offense from its defense, and then some, to capture its second Southland Conference victory of the 2020-21 campaign with a 100-41 victory against Texas A&M Corpus Christi Wednesday night. Every Ladyjack on the roster made an appearance in the ballgame, with every player making their way into the box score. The Ladyjacks move to 10-2, 2-0 in Southland Conference play.
DEFENSE, I REPEAT, DEFENSE
The Ladyjacks continued its tenacious defense forcing 37 Islanders turnovers, which turned into 46 points for Coach Kellogg's squad. On top of turning its opponent over 37 times, SFA scored 50 points in the paint versus TAMUCC's 18, in addition to 30 fast break points on the night. The Ladyjacks have forced a total of 72 turnovers in its past two contests.
PILGRIM'S PLAYER OF THE GAME, STEPHANIE VISSCHER
Visscher paced the Ladyjacks from the get-go, with a stat line of 19 points (7-9 FG, 3-4 3-PT.), four rebounds and a career-high in assists (8) and steals (6).
ALL FIVE STARTERS IN DOUBLE FIGURES
With Visscher leading the way, the remaining four starters finished in double figures:
Aiyana Johnson (10 points, four rebounds, four assists)
Alyssa Mayfield (11 points, seven rebounds, three steals)
