
Zya Nugent Named College Sports Madness Mid-Major Conference Player of the Week for Southland Conference

NACOGDOCHES, Texas --
College Sports Madness announced its National and Conference Players of the Week Monday morning with Sophomore Guard Zya Nugent making an appearance as the Madness Mid-Major Conference Player of the Week representing the Southland Conference.
Each Monday, College Sports Madness recognizes student-athletes who have had the greatest impact to their team from each conference and on a national basis.
Nugent's breakout performance for the Ladyjacks (8-2) featured 23 points (9-12 FG, 2-3 3-PT.), six rebounds, six assists and two steals in a 100-61 victory against Texas Southern on Monday, December 21st. Nugent is shooting 51 percent from the field so far this season, along with leading her team in points per game, averaging 13.6.
