NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Men's and women's basketball enjoyed a bye weekend, while women's bowling took third in its first tournament of the spring season in last week's action.
This week, the basketball teams will continue Southland play with a pair of league games, while track and field and women's tennis get back in action this weekend as well.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The men's basketball team dropped a tough result at home against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday, 73-72. The 'Jacks continue road play on Wednesday evening in Central Arkansas, looking to get back on track in the win column. SFA will return home on Saturday, as they host UIW in a Southland Conference doubleheader with each institution's women's team as well.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The women's basketball team avenged one just two regular season conference losses from a year ago on Wednesday, traveling to Corpus Christi to take down the Islanders, 66-44. Sophomore Aiyana Johnson was named an Honorable Mention in the league's Player of the Week for her double-double effort in the win.
This week, the women's basketball team will host Central Arkansas on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., before turning around to face UIW at 2:00 p.m on Saturday in the second game of a doubleheader with the men's basketball team. The women's tennis team will continue its spring season this weekend at the Northeast Invitational in Croydon, Pa. Competition at the event begins on Friday and runs through Sunday.
