KLATOVY, Czech Republic - Coming off a successful freshman campaign at Stephen F. Austin, rising sophomore Stephanie Visscher has taken her talents to the Czech Republic, where she is captaining the Swedish U20 National Team during the FIBA Women's European Championship. Group play has already begun for the Swedes this weekend, with Visscher leading the team in scoring in both Saturday and Sunday's game against Poland and Czech Republic, respectively. Sweden will continue play in Group C with a contest against Russia on Monday at 1:00 GMT (+2). Every game during the U20 Women's Championship will be played at Arena ZS in the city of Klatovy.
Visscher, a captain of her squad, has started both games this weekend for her team, averaging 10 points, 5.5 rebounds and two steals in the contests. Starting all 32 games for the Ladyjacks last season, Visscher showed the same ability to contribute across the board, averaging 7.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
