
Twelve SFA Student-Athletes Take Part in Summer 2019 Commencement Exercises

Student-athletes from SFA's football, baseball, softball, soccer and men's basketball programs receive degrees
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Another strong contingent of individuals joined the ranks of SFA's alumni base during the university's pair of summer commencement ceremonies Saturday inside William R. Johnson Coliseum and in that group of newly-minted SFA alums were 12 former Lumberjack and Ladyjack student-athletes.
Walking across the stage to receive an SFA diploma represented the latest step in the academic careers of student-athletes from five of SFA's 18 NCAA Division I athletic programs.
Baseball had the highest number of individuals walk across the stage (five) followed closely by football (four). Men's basketball, soccer and softball each had one student-athlete take part in Saturday's ceremonies.
Prior to Saturday's commencement ceremonies, SFA athletics hosted a reception Friday evening in the Ed and Gwen Cole STEM Building for the graduating student-athletes and their families. At the ceremony, the graduates were presented with their student-athletes stoles while with their families, coaches and SFA athletic staff members.
Below is a complete list of student-athletes who took part in SFA's August 2019 commencement exercises which pushed the number of individuals in SFA's alumni base to over 112,000.
