Sixty-Six SFA Student-Athletes Named to Fall 2018 Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll

FRISCO, Texas - Thursday afternoon, the Southland Conference unveiled its Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall 2018 semester an on that list were 66 SFA student-athletes.
The Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in the sports of men's cross country, women's cross country, football, soccer and volleyball who maintain at least a 3.00 grade point average in the semester of their sport.
"We are very honored and pleased to see so many Southland Conference student-athletes continue to succeed academically," league Commissioner Tom Burnett said.
"The Southland and its member institutions are focused on the academic and competitive well-being of these individuals as the work toward graduation and lifelong success."
Each and every one of SFA's fall athletic teams were represented on the Commissioner's Honor Roll with football leading the way with 21 student-athletes on the list. Soccer boasted 17 student-athletes on the list while volleyball (14), women's cross country (11) and men's cross country (three) rounded out SFA's representatives on the list.
Of the 66 student-athletes on the list, an impressive 16 of them boasted a perfect 4.00 GPA for the fall 2018 semester. Included on that list were football's Cam Arnold and Cody Williams, volleyball's McKenzie Brewer, Haley Coleman, Corin Evans, Sabrina Monaco and Neena Perdue, soccer's Carli Arthurs, Sophie Fondren, Allyson Halliday, Tyler Johnson, Lauren Prentice and Madeline Speanburg and women's cross country's Meredith Clayton, Kelsey Ramirez and Taryn Surratt.
Among the 66 Commissioner's Honor Roll members, two of them - Carli Arthurs (soccer) and Ann Hollas (volleyball) - were named 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans. Both are repeat selections as Academic All-Americans.
