SFA Chosen as Host Institution for WNIT Consolation Round Games

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Preseason WNIT basketball is set to come to Nacogdoches this weekend, as SFA has been selected as a host site for a consolation round of the tournament, per the WNIT in a Saturday afternoon release. The Ladyjacks will host Morgan State, Niagara and Yale in a four-game slate on Friday and Saturday inside William R. Johnson Coliseum.
The matchups for the weekend are as follows:
Friday, Nov. 16
Yale vs. Niagara at 4 p.m. CT
Morgan State at Stephen F. Austin at 6:30 p.m. CT
Saturday, Nov. 17
Yale/Niagara loser vs. Morgan State/SFA loser at 2 p.m. CT
Yale/Niagara winner vs. Morgan State/SFA winner at 4:30 p.m. CT
In Friday's opening round action, all four of the participating teams suffered losses. Niagara lost to Iowa State by a 95-35 score, Morgan State dropped a 80-59 decision to Hartford, and Yale was beaten by Northern Illinois, 89-80. Texas State is serving as the other host for the consolation round, hosting Nicholls, Delaware and Montana State.
Tickets for these games are not included in the SFA season ticket packages and will require purchase separately.
