2014-15 proved to be arguably the most memorable year in the history of Stephen F. Austin Athletics. Nine regular season conference titles, three NCAA postseason appearances, seven Coach of the Year honors, seven All-Americans, 23 Southland Conference major award winners, a national runner-up showing and the program's first Division I national champion. Over the next few weeks, SFAJacks.com looks back at the highlights of SFA's historic 2014-15 season, a season which came to be known as the "Year of the `Jacks."

Nov. 1 – VB – SFA Sweeps Central Arkansas on Senior Day
Snapping an 11-match losing skid to UCA, SFA blanked the Sugar Bears to remain perfect in Southland competition and send off seniors Jill Ivy, Paige Holland and Janet Hill in style. The Ladyjacks hit .322 as a team in the match, while limiting UCA to a .050 mark.
Nov. 2 – SOC – SFA Caps Perfect Regular Season in the Southland
The SFA women's soccer team finished off a perfect regular season both in Southland Conference play and at home, defeating Incarnate Word 1-0 to close league action. The Ladyjacks finished a perfect 11-0 in the SLC, while posting an unblemished 8-0 mark at the SFA Soccer Field with the win.
Nov. 3 – XC – SFA Sweeps Second at the SLC Championships
The men's and women's cross country teams capped a great regular season by running to second place finishes at the 2014 Southland Conference Championships in early November. Charles Mathenge led the Lumberjacks with a runner-up individual showing to earn First Team All-SLC honors. He was also named SLC Newcomer of the Year for his efforts. On the women's side, Courtney High, Samantha Ottman and Brittany Innis went 6-7-8 to earn second team accolades.
Nov. 4 – SOC - Ladyjacks Sweep SLC Individual Honors
The SFA women's soccer team became the first program in Southland Conference history to sweep all four individual honors, claiming Coach of the Year (Wally Crittenden), Player of the Year (Zuri Prince), Freshman of the Year (Hanna Barker) and Newcomer of the Year (Christa Robinson) in 2014. 
Nov. 4 – MGLF – SFA Sweeps Trophies at ASU Fall Beach Classic
SFA swept both the team and individual trophies at the ASU Fall Beach Classic as the Lumberjacks shot a 19-over 883, defeating Arkansas-Little Rock by five strokes. Individually, Baxter Ward and Luke Sheehan tied for the individual championship with Ward edging Sheehan in a playoff hole to earn his first individual title.
Nov. 7 – SOC - SFA Routs Nicholls to Advance to SLC Championship
The top-seeded SFA women's soccer team recorded their nation-leading 14th consecutive win in a 5-0 shutout of fifth-seeded Nicholls in the SLC Tournament semifinals to advance to the championship match. Christie Hinojosa scored two goals to lead SFA's biggest rout in program history at the SLC Tournament.
Nov. 7 - VB – Ladyjacks Clinch Share of SLC Championship

For the first time since 2007, SFA earned at least a share of the Southland Conference regular season title. With a 3-1 victory at Northwestern State, the ‘Jacks netted the top seed in the Southland Conference Tournament. Libero OJ Olson picked up her third Defensive Player of the Week honors of the season for her efforts.
Nov. 8 – FB – Lumberjacks Upend Sixth-Ranked McNeese State in Lake Charles
For the second time in three weeks, SFA notched a victory over a top-10 opponent, toppling McNeese State 31-16 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. While SFA’s rushing attack was held in check, Zach Conque completed 21 of his 23 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns while SFA’s defense registered six sacks.
Nov. 11 – FB – Conque Garners National Accolades
Thanks to his impressive performance in SFA’s upset win over McNeese State, Zach Conque reeled in a number of national honors. He was named the National Offensive Player of the Week by both CFPA and College Sports Madness and was the Weekly Star at quarterback by the College Sporting News. Those awards came on the heels of Conque being named the SLC Offensive Player of the Week.
Nov. 14 – XC - Charles Mathenge Qualifies for Nationals
Sophomore Charles Mathenge finished seventh at the NCAA South Central Regional cross country meet to secure a spot in the field at the 2014 NCAA National Championships. Mathenge tackled the University of Arkansas 10k course in 29:58 - roughly a 4:50 mile pace - to break his second school record of the season.
Nov. 14 – MBB - SFA Extends Home Win Streak to 34 Games
Mississippi College proved no match for SFA, which earned a 75-49 victory to open its season. Thomas Walkup posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge.
Nov. 15- VB - SFA Finishes Conference Play Undefeated at 16-0
Marking its first perfect Southland season since 2006, the Stephen F. Austin volleyball team ended its regular season 16-0 in conference play. Incarnate Word went down in straight sets, 3-0, giving SFA a 48-4 record in sets during Southland matches.
Nov. 18 - MBB – ESPN Showdown With Northern Iowa Marks First Nationally Televised Game at William R. Johnson Coliseum

In front of a full crowd of 7,096, SFA took on Northern Iowa in the first nationally broadcast game at WRJ in program-history as part of ESPN’s Tipoff Classic. Telecast in an 8 a.m. start on ESPN2, the Lumberjacks fell in overtime to UNI, 79-77.
Nov. 19 - VB - Holland, Humphreys Reel in SLC Major Awards
Following its perfect SLC season, SFA volleyball reeled in a pair of major SLC Awards with Paige Holland being named Setter of the Year and Debbie Humphreys claiming Coach of the Year honors. Holland was also a first team All-SLC selection, being joined by Jill Ivy, Jacque Allen and Justice Walker.
Nov. 21- VB - SFA Sweeps Nicholls, Advances to SLC Semifinals

Led by senior Jill Ivy’s 14 kills, SFA earned its 14th conference sweep with a 3-0 win over Nicholls. The win was the Ladyjacks’ 17th in a row, and secured a semifinal matchup with Northwestern State in the SLC Tournament.
Nov. 22 – FB – SFA Reclaims Chief Caddo on Last-Second Kick
Jordan Wiggs drilled a 41-yard field goal as time expired, leading SFA to a 27-24 victory over rival Northwestern State to reclaim Chief Caddo. Gus Johnson became SFA’s all-time leading rusher in the process as the ‘Jacks retained possession of the Chief for the fifth time in six years.
