FRISCO, Texas -- Stephen F. Austin junior Valeria Terentyeva has been named to the 2015 Southland Conference All-Academic Women's Tennis team, announced today by the league office. It marks Terentyeva's second All-Academic honor of her career, earning second team honors in 2014.
A first team Capital One Academic All-District selection, Terentyeva capped a great junior season, being named a second team All-Southland Conference doubles selection as she and partner Vivienne Kulicke posted a 15-6 overall record, going 9-2 in SLC play. She also had a solid singles season as well, recording a 12-6 mark on the year and going 7-2 in SLC play, playing primarily the No. 4 and No. 5 position.
A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Terentyeva helped guide SFA to a share of the 2015 SLC title, the second in program history and the first since 2012. She boats a perfect 4.00 GPA, majoring in physics.
In her three seasons in Nacogdoches, Terentyeva has posted an overall singles record of 42-26 and is 21-10 in Southland Conference play. Competing as a key member of the Ladyjack doubles team, Terentyeva has compiled a 30-21 career record and has been a two-time Commissioners Honor Roll selection.
