SFA Athletics Hosting Toys For Tots Drive

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - In the spirit of the holiday season, the Stephen F. Austin Athletic Department is hoping to spread some holiday cheer to those in need by conducting its annual Toys for Tots toy drive at various athletic events. All local Toys For Tots initiatives help provide Christmas presents to less fortunate children in the Nacogdoches area.
SFA Athletics encourages fans to bring an unwrapped toy of at least $10 value in exchange for a free general admission ticket to select events (limit one admission per person).
The first Toys for Tots event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Homer Bryce Stadium as the Lumberjack football team hosts rival Northwestern State in the Battle for Chief Caddo at 3:00 p.m.
Basketball will then join in the drive as the women's basketball team will host its Toys For Tots game on Tuesday, Dec. 2 when the Ladyjacks host Texas A&M-Kingsville at 7 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium. Men's basketball will then take part on Friday, Dec. 5 as the Lumberjacks take on Long Beach State at 7 p.m. at William R. Johnson Coliseum.
The primary mission of Toys for Tots is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. SFA Athletics asks all fans to please show Lumberjack pride on the dates listed, to think of others during the holiday season and donate a toy to the program.
