Ladyjacks 12th at UNT Classic

FORT WORTH, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team recorded a 314-337 - 651 on the opening day of action at the UNT Worldlink Classic in Fort Worth, Texas Monday afternoon. The Ladyjacks jumped out to a solid start with an opening round 314, but struggled in the second round of competition.
Sophomore Chelsea Simmons and senior Noelle Willcoxen recorded sub-80 scores in the morning round. SFA was led by Simmons who posted a two-over 74. Willcoxon was only four strokes back Simmons after the first 18 holes. Freshman Marissa Bransburg and Allison Flake each opened with a score of 81, but the second round was tougher on the second-year program.
SFA's lowest score in the second round was an 83 by Bransburg. She finished the day with the team's third lowest score (164) and is 58th overall. Simmons enters the final day of competition with the squad's lowest overall score (74-84 - 158). She is currently tied for 33rd overall.
Senior Noelle Willcoxen is currently tied for 50th overall after carding a second-round 84 (78-84 - 162). Flake fired a 167 and is currently tied for 61st overall. Freshman Allece Anderson recorded an 85-88 - 173 and is currently 67th overall.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday to close out the UNT Worldlinks Classic at the Golf Course at Champions Circle.
