NACOGDOCHES, Texas - For the second time this season, every Stephen F. Austin player in uniform found the scoring column, and the Lumberjacks rolled to an 86-47 win over Science and Arts of Oklahoma Saturday in the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
SFA (4-1) led 38-18 at the half and didn't let up, using a 55-percent shooting effort in the second period to pull away and lead by as many 39 points.
Sophomore center Brandon Cutler came off the bench to score a career-best 14 points, tying junior power forward Jordan Glynn for the team lead. The duo led a dominant inside performance that saw the `Jacks outscore USAO, 52-14, in the paint. Glynn was 6-for-6 from the field, and Cutler was 6-of-9.
Cutler just missed his first double-double as a Lumberjack, pulling down a career-high nine rebounds to lead SFA to a 46-23 advantage on the boards. Dion Prewster added eight rebounds off the bench to go with his 10 points. Starting center Jereal Scott put up 12 points and five boards in just 16 minutes of action. The Lumberjacks outscored the Drovers, 21-6, in second-chance points.
Amos Olatayo came off the bench for 10 points in 13 minutes to give SFA five players in double figures for the second time this season.
SFA forced 16 turnovers and held USAO to 30 percent shooting in the Drovers' lowest-scoring performance of the season. That marks the second time this season and the 44th time in Lumberjack head coach Danny Kaspar's tenure for SFA to hold an opponent below 50 points.
With the victory, SFA has now won 23 of its last 24 non-conference games at home. The Lumberjacks will return to the road on Dec. 2 for a game at Texas A&M. The contest is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.
