NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The SFA Athletics Department is going interactive this season, giving fans a new angle to gain inside access and follow teams throughout the year.
Throughout the year the SFA media relations team will be providing updated blog entries for nearly all of SFA's 16 sports. Fans will even get the chance to join in on live, interactive chats for selected events beginning with Tuesday's Ladyjack soccer match at home against SMU at 1:00 p.m.
Assistant Director of Media Relations Brian Ross will be directing the maiden voyage of the live chat on Tuesday from the SFA Soccer Complex with fans able to log in for free and make comments or ask questions of someone sitting directly at the scorer's table.
The blogs are designed to feature content that doesn't quite fit in with the traditional means of reporting found on SFA's Web site and will encourage fan feedback and interaction. Other highlights to look forward to, in addition to live blogs following the action from select games, are: fan polls and contests, guest-blogger appearances by SFA players and coaches and the potential for live chats with head coaches and players.
"With the changing means of media this is a great outlet for us to become much more interactive with our fans," Director of Media Relations James Dixon said. "It gives us an opportunity to move closer to the cutting edge of what is being done at schools across the country."
Each sport's blog can be found on the right sidebar of the sport's individual page by clicking on the designated link. Women's soccer and volleyball blogs are already up and running with more sports scheduled to begin in the upcoming weeks.
So check in frequently and be sure to email any member of the media relations department with any ideas you may have for how to improve this Web site feature.
