
Grambling State Edges Ladyjacks

GRAMBLING, La. - A Rachelle Dobbins three-pointer from 38-feet away with eight seconds on the clock was the deciding factor in a 65-64 win for Grambling State over Stephen F. Austin at the Assembly Center.
The loss drops SFA to 4-4 on the year while Grambling State improves to 1-4.
The Ladyjacks held Grambling to under 30-percent shooting all night, but it was SFA's inability to hold on the basketball that hurt them in the end. SFA turned the ball over 26 times, which Grambling State converted into 25 points.
SFA also out rebounded Grambling by eight, 48-40, but it was Grambling State that finished the game with three-point advantage in second-chance points.
The Ladyjacks finished the night 21-25 (38.2 percent) from the floor and were led by three players in double figures. Natashia Green led the way with 18 points and six rebounds, while freshman Tammara Marion had 17 points five rebounds. Sophomore Ebony Alexander contributed 11 points and pulled down seven rebounds.
Dobbins finished the night with 15 points for Grambling State, but the Lady Tigers were led by Whitney Brown who had 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday, Dec. 13, when they host New Orleans from Johnson Coliseum. The game will tip off at 6:00 p.m.
