SFA Equestrian Advances to Nationals

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack equestrian team has advanced to the Varsity Equestrian National Championships announced head coach Leigh Huesner Tuesday afternoon. The Ladyjacks advanced in both English and Western events and are seeded 11th in both.
SFA's hunt seat squad will face sixth-seeded Baylor in the first round in both equitation on the flat and equitation over fences. In Western show, the Ladyjacks will face No. 6 Oklahoma State in reining and horsemanship.
The championships will take place from April 18-20 at the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo Complex in Waco.
The announcement came just days after the Ladyjacks wrapped up their regular season with an 11-5 win over Tennessee-Martin Saturday afternoon. SFA finished its sophomore season of competition with a winning record of 6-5.
