Three Record NCAA Marks at Baylor

WACO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field teams recorded eight first-place performances and 16 Top 3 finishes Saturday at Baylor's Michael Johnson Classic. Three SFA athletes also recorded NCAA qualifying marks at the meet.
Junior Reggie Lazenby improved on his season-best in the long jump with a first-place mark of 25-02.00. That beat his previous best jump of the season by four inches and marks the fourth time this season he has recorded an NCAA qualifying mark. Ladyjacks Kristina Windham and Alecia Green also recorded regional marks at Baylor. Windham, a sophomore, won the pole vault with a height of 12-05.50. Her classmate, Green, won gold in the long jump with her NCAA mark of 19-09.50.
Four other Ladyjacks recorded Top 3 performances at the meet. Sophomore Laura Mikeska was second to Windham in the pole vault with a height of 11-11.75. Senior Colleen Lonergan took third in the hammer throw with a mark of 150-02. Sophomore Audrey Azu and senior Crystal Chang took second and third, respectively, in the high jump. Azu cleared 5-07.00, and Chang recorded a height of 5-05.00.
On the men's side, senior Mike Ludlow joined Lazenby with a first-place finish of his own. Ludlow won the pole vault with a height of 16-00.75. Junior James Williams won the shot put with a mark of 51-08.50 and took third in the discus with a throw of 129-05. Junior Ryder Peacock won the high jump with his height of 6-06.75. Sophomore Zach Ross won the 400-meter hurdles with his time of 54.55, and sophomore Stephon Rhea took first in the 200, crossing the line in 21.44. Scott Reid turned in a second-place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 150-01. Sophomore Johnny Thacker was second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.74, and sophomore Cole Hollingsworth took third in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:55.03.
SFA will return to action on April 27 for the North Texas Invitational in Denton, Texas.
