STILLWATER, Okla. - Amy Hilfer put the wraps on the Stephen F. Austin equestrian team's inaugural season Sunday, when she competed at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Zone 7 Championships. Hilfer finished third in the walk trot division of the competition, narrowly missing qualification for the IHSA national championships.
SFA assistant coach and hunt seat specialist Jennifer Wiggins called Hilfer's performance "one of her personal best rides in IHSA competition."
"She put in a very solid ride, and I couldn't be more pleased with the effort she made," Wiggins said, "but the riders from Texas A&M and Oklahoma State were on top of their game, as well."
