
Ladyjacks Fall To Arizona State

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team made an early exit from the NCAA Championships falling to No. 4-seed Arizona State, 80-61, Saturday afternoon at the McKale Center in Tucson, Ariz. The Ladyjacks finished the season 23-8 overall.
The Sun Devils utilized a height advantage to dominate the glass out rebound SFA, 52-26, building a 20-point first half lead. The Ladyjacks rallied to cut the lead to 14 points behind freshman Anitria Mosley's career-high 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting. But the Sun Devils closed out the half with a run to extend the lead back to 23 points, 46-23, heading into the intermission.
Arizona State was able to hold off any Ladyjack rally behind the Kristen Kovesdy's 22 points and 11 rebounds. ASU's Kirsten Thompson added 12 points, while Aubree Johnson finished the game with 10 points.
The Ladyjacks finished the game 26-of-57 (.388) from the floor, while connecting on only 1-of-8 (.125) three-point attempts. ASU finished the game 33-for-67 (.493) from the floor.
