
Ladyjacks Fall to Arkansas

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - The Ladyjacks got a career-high 24 points from Charity Egenti, but it wasn't enough to stop No. 24 Arkansas. The Ladyjacks dropped a 75-54 decision to the Razorbacks at the Summit Arena in Hot Springs. The Ladyjacks drop to 7-5 on the season.
The Ladyjacks took an early eight-point lead, but Arkansas was able to battle back. The Lady Razorbacks knocked down six three-pointers in the first half led by Donica Cosby. Cosby finished the game with 23 points, and was 7-of-10 from beyond the arc for the game. The Lady `Backs outscored SFA 37-28 in the second half.
The Ladyjacks finished the game 23-of-65 (35 percent) from the floor, while Arkansas was 26-of-67 (39 percent). The telling stat of the game was Arkansas' ability to knock down the three. The Lady Razorbacks were 11-of-22 (50 percent) from beyond the arc, while SFA was only able to hit 2-of-11 (18 percent) of its threes. SFA was also outrebounded 48-36.
Freshman Whitney Cormier added eight points and three rebounds, while senior Jennifer Simpson chipped in seven. SFA also got four points from sophomores Natashia Green and Anitria Mosley.
SFA returns to action Saturday, Dec. 30, when they travel to Jackson, Miss., to face Jackson State. The game against the Lady Tigers is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
