
Equestrian Coach Leigh Heusner Completes Staff

NACOGDOCHES - Jennifer Wiggins has been named as assistant coach Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack Equestrian head coach Leigh Heusner announced Friday morning. Wiggins will focus on hunt seat equitation for the Ladyjacks.
"I'm very excited to have Jennifer join our staff," said Heusner. "She knows this area having been a student here and brings a wealth of knowledge about the sport to SFA. Our girls will learn a lot from Jennifer."
Wiggins has been involved with the SFA Equestrian club team for the past two seasons. This past year she served as an assistant with the SFA club team as well as taking care of approximately 50 horses at the equine center. She was also responsible for grooming and riding horses in preparation for the American Quarter Horse Association shows. Wiggins brings eight years of rider instructing experience with her to SFA.
Wiggins was a four-year member of the SFA Equestrian club team and was named as the team captain in the 2004-05 season. During her career, she was a regional qualifier in Intermediate Hunt Seat Equitation Over Fences and Hunt Seat Equitation, as well as in Advanced Horsemanship.
Wiggins received her bachelor's degree from SFA this past May. She is currently a member of the American Paint Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association and has served on the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's Regional Codes and Ethics Committee.
