Heather Sowers Finishes Fifth at Nationals

Stephen F. Austin Equestrian Club rider Heather Sowers finished fifth at the recent Equestrian Club Team National Horse Show May 5 through May 8. The Houston sophomore is the first SFA underclassmen to compete at the National Horse Show.
SFA equestrian assistant club coach J.P. Porter worked with Sowers, helping her advance to the National Horse Show after winning the regional title in the Beginner Western Horsemanship division. Sowers competed at the zone championships on Saturday April 9th, in Fort Collins, Colo., earning Zone Reserve Champion honors.
The equestrian team will take on varsity status at the university for the 2005-06 academic year.
