ARLINGTON, Texas -- A hot shooting UT-Arlington Lady Mavericks team got out to a quick start Monday night and handed the SFA Ladyjacks (12-16) a 75-45 loss to end SFA's season in the first round of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Southland Conference Postseason Tournament.
UT-Arlington jumped out to an early 11-2 lead and connected on their first five three point attempts in the game in building a 21-point halftime lead. SFA did cut the lead back to eight points midway through the first half before a Lady Mavs run ended the Ladyjack challenge.
Alex Bowman led SFA with 11 points while Brittany Vinson added 10 points for SFA. The Ladyjacks ended the night shooting 41-percent from the field (14-34) and were also an even 50-percent on three-pointers (4-8) on the night but it wasn't enough as UT-Arlington used a dominating performance on the glass to put away the Ladyjacks for the third time this season.
UT-Arlington outrebounded the Ladyjacks 31-19 for the game as Tanesha Graves led the Mavericks with 14 points and Rola Ogunoye also added 13. Ogunoye also led the Mavericks with eight rebounds. Tera Wallace also added 12 to round out the double figure scoring for UTA.
