INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team finished the 2003 soccer season ranked 90th in the NCAA's Rating Percentage Index (RPI) poll. It is the highest finish by a Ladyjack soccer team in school history. The Ladyjacks were one of only two Southland Conference schools to finish among the nation's top 100.
The primary factors that go into the RPI poll include won-lost record, strength of schedule, head-to-head competition, results versus common opponents, results against teams already selected to participate in the championship and results against teams under consideration. The Ladyjacks finished ahead of such programs as Alabama, Louisiana State, Texas Tech and Texas-El Paso.
The Ladyjacks set a school record for wins in 2003 recording a 15-5-2 (.727) overall mark. The Ladyjacks won the Southland Conference Tournament title and made their first-ever NCAA Championship appearance.
