Stone Earns Academic All-SLC Honors

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Sarah Stone, a sophomore from Pasadena, Texas, on the SFA softball team has been named to the 2003 Academic All-Southland Conference team in a vote of conference head coaches, sports information directors and academic coordinators. Stone is one of 11 student-athletes from SLC member schools to achieve the honor. She was voted to the team as a designated player.
The sophomore batted .227 for the year for SFA while starting 55 games behind the plate for the 'Jacks. She threw out 18 of 47 potential base stealers while making only four errors in 421 chances. Stone has also posted a 3.07 GPA while majoring in communications at the university.
