PLANO, Texas - Sophomore Kim Gray was named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week announced league officials Wednesday afternoon. It is the second time this season Gray has received the honor.
Gray led the Ladyjacks to their seventh shutout of the season against McNeese State. The Ladyjacks blanked McNeese State, 4-0, in their only game of the week. The SFA defense allowed only six shots in the contest. Gray also helped on the offensive side netting the game-winning goal.
The Ladyjacks open the Southland Conference Championships Friday at 11:30 a.m., as the league's No. 2 seed. SFA will face the highest-remaining seed from Thursday's first-round games. The tournament is being played in Natchitoches, La.
