Ladyjack Basketball Defeats Sam Houston 79-51

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin State University Ladyjack Basketball team still remains undefeated in Southland Conference play as they won 79-51 over the Sam Houston State University Lady Kats today in William R. Johnson Coliseum. Currently the SFA Ladyjacks are 11-3 overall and 6-0 in Southland Conference play.
For Ladyjacks scored in double figures for the afternoon including Tami Rater (14), Nathesia Wright (14), Yolanda Grant (11) and Chaquita Dilworth (10). Helping these ladies was Lashinda Winters as she posted seven assists for the game. Jessica Guild was a force as she led her team in steals with seven. While leading her team in sccoring, Nathesia Wright also led her tem in rebounds with six (two offensive and four defensive).
As a team the Ladyjacks shot .432 (32-74) from the field and .300 from the three-point range (3-10). From the free-throw line the Ladyjacks shot .600 (12-20). There were a total of 20 steals, two blocks and 15 assists.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action Thursday, January 11 at 8:15 PM in Nacogdoches. The Ladyjacks will be facing the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Call 468-JACK for ticket information.
