Former ‘Jack Maddie Bowers Signs Pro Contract with FC Gintra

Bowers played final collegiate season for Lumberjacks in 2024, takes talents to the professional stage in Lithuania
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Former SFA women's soccer student-athlete Maddie Bowers signed a professional contract with FC Gintra, the Lithuania-based club announced on Wednesday. Bowers played four seasons at the University of Houston and concluded her collegiate career with the Lumberjacks as a graduate transfer in 2024.
During her lone season in Nacogdoches, Bowers was selected to the All-Southland Conference First Team after recording 23 points, the second-most in the SLC last fall, behind six goals and an SLC-leading 11 assists in 20 matches with 19 starts. She aided the Ladyjacks to 14 wins, the program's 12th SLC regular season title and an NCAA Tournament berth.
Bowers twice notched a team season-high in assists with two against both Texas A&M-San Antonio (9/5) and Lamar (9/22). She led the team in shots (48) and recorded game-winning goals against TAMU-San Antonio (9/5) and at UTRGV (10/6).
Her 1.15 points per game ranked second in the SLC. She snagged the SLC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor on Sept. 10 following a three-assist, two-goal week in wins over TAMU-San Antonio and Oral Roberts.
Over her first four seasons at UH, Bowers saw action in 54 matches which included 15 appearances in the starting lineup. She chipped in with six goals and five assists.
FC Gintra competes in A Lyga, the highest-rated Lithuanian soccer league. The club is based in Šiauliai and has collected 23 league championships including every title since the 2005 season.
