
Jayden Flynn named MVP And Izabella Ortiz Receives Second All-Tournament Team Selection

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Jayden Flynn was named MVP of the SFA tournament, while Izabella Ortiz was nominated to her second All-Tournament team this season.
Coming into the SFA tournament, Jayden Flynn held the team lead for assists and she only expanded that lead throughout the tournament. En route to winning MVP of the first ever SFA tournament, Flynn recorded 68 assists between the three games while adding 39 digs on top of that. On the season, Flynn paces the Ladyjacks with 121 assists so far while being fourth on the team in digs with 62.
The second Ladyjack to receive recognition from the first ever SFA tournament was Izabella Ortiz. Ortiz is no stranger to being nominated to an All-Tournament Team, as she was named to the Jaguar Invitational All-Tournament Team earlier this season when she recorded 28 kills, 22 blocks, and 40 points in that tournament. Ortiz posted similar numbers in the SFA tournament as she finished the tournament with 22 kills, 15 blocks, and 33 points in three games played. On the season, Ortiz is third on the team in kills with 50, fifth on the team in assists with three, and leads the team in blocks with a whopping 37 so far this season, which ranks her 4th in the nation.
The Ladyjacks end the SFA tournament on an extremely high note as they sport a 5-1 record and carry a four-game win streak into a matchup against the University of North Texas on Wednesday September 6th at 6:00 p.m.
