'Jacks' home opener set for 3:00 p.m. Sunday against UT-Arlington
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The rainy conditions that have soaked Nacogdoches over the last few days are not expected to let up for the remainder of the week and as a result the Stephen F. Austin baseball team has been forced to make more changes to its schedule for the weekend of Feb. 24-25.
Originally, SFA was scheduled to play Bradley (Feb. 24), South Dakota State (Feb. 24) and Southern Miss (Feb. 25) in the SFA Invitational, but all three of those teams are no longer headed to Jaycees Field due to the rain. SFA and the fifth team that had planned on coming to the SFA Invitational, UT Arlington, will now play a two-game set on Sunday and Monday at Jaycees Field.
The tilt between the 'Jacks and Mavericks on Sunday will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will also serve as SFA's home opener. SFA and UT Arlington are scheduled to concluded the two-game set at noon Monday.
