Ladyjacks' Intrasquad Scrimmage Set for Saturday Afternoon

Scrimmage will be SFA's only home appearance until Friday, Sept. 8
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - With less than two weeks remaining before it heads to DeLand, Fla., to begin its 2017 season, the Stephen F. Austin volleyball team will hold an intrasquad scrimmage at 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon in Shelton Gym.
Following the scrimmage, the players will be available to mingle with fans and sign SFA's 2017 schedule posters.
The Ladyjacks return 13 players from a 2016 squad that finished with 20 wins en route to a runner-up finish in the Southland Conference standings. Among those returning are setter and reigning Southland Conference Freshman of the Year Ann Hollas as well as senior libero Lexus Cain - an All-Southland Conference Second Team choice one season ago.
In addition to their large group of returners, the Ladyjacks welcome seven newcomers to the fold who will be competing for playing time right away.
Tabbed to finish in second place in the Southland Conference when the league's 2017 preseason poll was released in early August, the Ladyajcks' latest season gets underway at the Stetson Invitational. While there, SFA will play three matches beginning with its season opener against Florida Atlantic at 3:30 p.m. Friday, August 26.
