- SFA is 0-12 all-time vs LSU, not having taken on the Tigers since the 1992 season when it lost a three-game set in Baton Rouge by a combined score of 49-5. The 'Jacks are 4-0 all-time vs Sacred Heart, having swept a four-game series vs the Pioneers in Nacogdoches in 2008.
- SFA shortstop Hunter Dozier set the SFA all-time doubles mark with his 37th career two-bagger on Friday vs Penn State. He is currently tied for seventh all-time with 150 career hits.
- The 'Jacks have four preseason all-Southland Conference selections: Hunter Dozier, Freddy Villalobos, Max Lamantia and Cameron Gann.
- SFA led the Southland with 35 homers as a team last season, and are currently out in front of the rest of the league in that category again with 10 long balls. Three of those have come from second baseman Freddy Villalobos, as well as a pair from Jordon Lenaburg.
- Hunter Dozier is SFA's first ever preseason all-America (Collegiate Baseball, NCBWA).
- Second baseman Freddy Villalobos enters Tuesday riding a five-game hit streak, whlie Ricardo Sanchez has reached base in each of his last five games.
- SFA is installing new lighting at Jaycees Field, allowing for night games to be played in Nacogdoches for the first time since 1995. The first game will be played Friday, March 8 vs Arlington Baptist.
