Game Notes & What To Watch For:
- All games can be followed via Gametracker. Fans can also follow along on the official SFA Facebook and Twitter pages for the most up-to-date information on all games.
- This will be the first time in program history that SFA has ever played either Portland or Arkansas State. In fact, nine of SFA's first 14 games will be against first-time opponents.
- The Lumberjacks led the Southland Conference in team hitting (.301 BA) and pitching (3.57 ERA) in 2011, posting the program's lowest ERA since the 1984 season.
- Jarid Scarafiotti ended
- SFA placed three players on the preseason all-conference team, led by catcher Jarid Scarafiotti who enters 2011 ranked fifth all time at SFA with 156 hits. Shortstop Hunter Dozier and first baseman Bobby Loveless also were named to the preseason all-SLC second team.
- Head coach Johnny Cardenas needs just six wins to reach 100 for his career. He has already amassed a 94-75 record in his first three seasons, making him the winningest coach in SFA recorded history and the only coach with a record above the .500 mark.
- The Lumberjacks are coming off their best season in program history, winning 37 games in 2011 and advancing to the title game of the Southland Conference Tournament.
