
Ladyjacks Bowling Finishes Eighth In Kutztown Invite

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Stephen F. Austin women's bowling team, ranked 11th in the National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll, finished eighth out of 28 teams in the Kutztown Invitational after going 1-2 in the best four of seven Baker matches held Sunday.
The Ladyjacks started the day with a 4-1 loss to No. 18 Wisconsin-Whitewater. SFA posted scores of 145-187, 214-229, 193-189, 184-185 and 212-215 in the matchup.
The loss then slated SFA to play New Jersey City, whom the Ladyjacks beat in the seventh and deciding game.
SFA advanced to once again play Wisconsin-Whitewater and just like the first time around the Ladyjacks fell just short (4-1) with scores of 146-187, 175-174, 200-210, 166-216 and 148-215.
Maryland-Eastern Shore defeated Fairleigh Dickinson University for the invitational title. Sacred Heart topped Vanderbilt in the battle for third place and Valparaiso edged Delaware State for fifth.
The Ladyjacks are scheduled to next participate in the Holiday Collegiate Classic in Bessemer, Ala. The tournament will be hosted by Alabama A&M, Feb. 24-26.
