
Lindsey Morgan Joins Ladyjack Staff

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin soccer coach Tony Amato announced Tuesday the hiring of Lindsey Morgan as an assistant coach. Morgan is the second hire for Amato, completing the first-year Ladyjack coach's staff for the 2010 season.
Morgan comes to SFA from her alma mater, Columbus State, where she lettered four seasons before joining the coaching staff in January of 2009.
"Lindsey was highly recommended to me," Amato said. "After working with her at our soccer camp, I know she will be an asset to our program at SFA. She has a competitive personality and is committed to helping our team be successful in the Southland Conference."
In her season on staff with Columbus State, Morgan assisted in directing training sessions as well as game-day preparation and scouting. She coordinated the offseason strength and conditioning program and helped arrange and execute visits for recruits.
Since last May, Morgan has served as the head coach of the Columbus Futbol Club, Redstar. She recruited players from the Columbus area and directed all operations for the U-12 girls squad
Additionally, Morgan served as a senior staff coach for the Columbus State Soccer Camps for the duration of her career. From July of 2007 to the present, she also worked as a college preparatory camp coach, designing and conducting development sessions for high school-aged players. While working in this capacity, she was invited to elite camps with Florida State, Birmingham United Soccer Association and Atlanta Fire United of Region III Premier League.
As a midfielder at Columbus State, Morgan made 84 starts in four seasons. She finished her career with seven goals and 20 assists and earned NSCAA All-Region honors as a senior.
Morgan earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Columbus State in 2010. She holds a USSF Class D license.
