FRISCO, Texas - The defending Southland Conference Champion Lumberjack football team will be on the Southland Conference Television Network twice during the 2010 season, with an opportunity at a third game, announced league officials late Wednesday afternoon.
SFA will appear on Southland TV when it hosts Central Arkansas Saturday, Oct. 16th. The game against the Bears is slated to begin at 2 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium. The `Jacks will also be televised the following week when they face Sam Houston State in the annual `Battle of the Piney Woods.' The annual rivalry game has been moved to Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas Saturday, Oct. 23rd.
The final week of the season has been left open for a broadcast. The conference will determine that game based on the 2010 conference race.
The `Jacks were 10-3 last season winning the SLC regular-season title, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA FCS Playoffs. The Lumberjacks had two games broadcast on the SLC-TV Network last season defeating UCA and McNeese State.
The Lumberjacks open the 2010 season Saturday, Sept. 4, when they travel to College Station, Texas, to face Texas A&M. The game against the Aggies slated to begin at 6 p.m. from Kyle Field.
