HOUSTON, Texas - Kickoff is less than 24 hours away and tickets still remain for the annual rivalry game between Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State. The game is slated for a 2 p.m. kick at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. Fans can purchase tickets Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday morning.
The fourth-ranked (FCS Coaches Poll) Lumberjacks bring a 5-1 overall record to Houston, and are 2-0 in Southland Conference play. Stephen F. Austin's high-octane aerial assault has guided SFA to five consecutive wins following a season-opening setback at Texas A&M.
The Bearkats enters Saturday's game riding a similar wave of momentum. Led by one of the top ground games in the country, Sam Houston State is 4-2 on the season and has rattled off four consecutive wins following a 0-2 start to the season. The Bearkats are also 2-0 in conference play.
SFA trails the all-time series 48-34-2, but the Lumberjacks ended a five-game skid to the Bearkats last season with a 42-3 victory in Nacogdoches. It was the largest margin of victory in season history.
