BATON ROUGE, La. - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field will leave the state of Texas for the first time during the 2010 indoor season to compete at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational Friday, Jan. 22, at the Carl Maddox Field House.
The LSU season opener begins at noon with the field events, with the track events slated to get underway at 5 p.m. The meet will begin with the men's weight throw, while the women's 60-meter hurdles will be the opening track event.
SFA will look to improve upon a season-opening weekend that saw the men win two individual titles at the Leonard Hilton Invitational in Houston, and the Ladyjacks record two titles, and set a school record at the Texas A&M Invitational.
SFA will return to Houston, Texas Friday, Jan. 29 when they will open the Houston Invite and Multis. The two-day event will take place at the Bill Yeoman Field House.
