FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Junior heptathlete Aaron Harlan closed out the Razorback Invitational with a strong final day of competition in the heptathlon. Harlan recorded an NCAA provisional mark in the event with his score of 5,302 points. His score was good enough to place second overall, and record a new school record.
Some of Harlan's closest competition came from teammate Chris Jones who finished third overall (4,979 points). Harlan recorded strong finishes in the 60-meter hurdles and the pole vault. He won the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.09, while Jones finished second in the event (8.57). Harlan was the runner-up in the pole vault clearing a height of 14-7.25. Once again it was Jones who was right on his heels clearing a height of 14-3.25 to finish third overall.
Senior Justin Reyes had a solid showing the men's high jump. Reyes cleared a height of 6-8.75 to finish in a three-way tie for sixth-place.
The Ladyjack throwers recorded their second strong day of competition Saturday. Less than 24 hours after winning the women's weight throw, sophomore Frednisha Marshall was right back on the field competing in the women's shot put. Marshall recorded a throw of 45-1.50 to finish sixth overall.
Classmate Kaitlyn Andrews was pushing Marshall every step of the way. Andrews recorded a throw of 44-10.25 to place seventh overall in the event.
