NACOGDOCHES - Jaye Nayreau has been named assistant coach SFA Ladyjack head basketball coach Lee Ann Riley announced Thursday afternoon. Nayreau comes to Nacogdoches after spending the past two seasons at Dodge City Community College, in Kansas.
"I am very pleased to have Jaye join our staff," said Riley. "He is an enthusiatic and dedicated coach who will bring so much to our program. Jaye's experience will be a benefit on the court, recruiting and academically. We are excited to add another classy and committed coach to our program."
During his stint at Dodge City, Nayreau was involved with every aspect of the women's program, from in-game coaching to scouting and game preparation. He also handled schedule preparations, and served as student-athlete advisor for the team.
Prior to his stop in Kansas, Nayreau spent one season on the Saint Louis Billiken staff, as a graduate assistant coach. During that time, he oversaw all aspects of the Billiken Classic and also served as an academic advisor for the team.
"I feel that the enriched tradition of the Ladyjack basketball program, and the experiences which are afforded to me under coach Riley's tutelage are indeed, second to none," said Nayreau. "This is sincerely a memorable time in my life and career. I thank Coach Riley for this opportunity and look forward to great things ahead."
