NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team is set to host TCU Wednesday in the second and final exhibition match of the season. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start at the SFA Soccer Complex.
The Ladyjacks are coming off a scoreless tie in their exhibition opener at Centenary last Friday. Wednesday's game will be the first of the season for TCU. The Horned Frogs are coming off a 6-8-4 (1-3-3 Mountain West) season in 2006, but they return eight starters and 14 letterwinners from that squad.
The Ladyjacks have never defeated TCU in four meetings, but the two teams have not played a regular-season match since 1998. SFA took on the Horned Frogs in exhibition play last year in Fort Worth. TCU scored a late goal to notch a 2-1 victory.
SFA will open the regular season slate on Friday, August 31, when the Ladyjacks host St. Edward's in a 7 p.m. contest. The team will be back in action two days later, when SFA entertains Creighton on Sunday, Sept. 2. That game is set for an 11 a.m. start.
