Grossman Named Golfer of the Week

PLANO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin senior Brian Grossman has been named the Southland Conference golfer of the week, league officials announced Wednesday. Grossman finished second in the individual standings at the Rice Intercollegiate Tuesday after losing in a playoff against Colorado State's Derrick Whiting.
Grossman was one of four players tied for the lead at the end of Tuesday's third round. He and Whiting took three playoff holes to decide the tournament championship.
Grossman finished the tournament at nine-over 219. He carded rounds of 74, 71 and 74. His second-place finish is the best individual showing by a Lumberjack golfer during the 2005-06 season.
SFA will return to action on Feb. 20 and 21 at the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunner Intercollegiate. The tournament will be held on the Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio.
