PLANO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's track and field squad placed three athletes on the Academic All-Southland Conference team announced league officials Thursday afternoon. Juniors Rodney Joseph and Crystal Chang and senior Jocelyn Stevens were three of only 22 athletes to receive the honor.
Joseph helped guide the Lumberjack cross country to its fourth consecutive title this past fall by earning All-Southland Conference honors. He followed that up by helping the `Jacks win their first-ever SLC Indoor Track and Field title back in February. Last season, Joseph was also named SLC Student-Athlete of the Year.
Chang guided the Ladyjacks to the 2005 SLC Indoor title by winning the pentathlon and setting and NCAA provisional mark. Chang is also a four-time all-conference honoree in the pentathlon and heptathlon.
Stevens wrapped up her career at SFA as an eight-time All-SLC athlete and a two-time SLC individual champion. She qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships in the 400-meter hurdles three times and qualified for the regional meet in the high jump during her final two seasons.
