Ladyjack Named SLC Player of the Week

PLANO, Texas - Junior middle blocker Brittany Burton (Livingston, Texas) was named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week announced league officials Monday. It is the first honor of the season for Burton but the second time this year that a Ladyjack has received the award.
Burton led the Ladyjacks with her 42 kills (5.3 kpg), including a career-high 27 in the victory over Texas-San Antonio. It is the third time this season that Burton has set a new career-high in kills. She also recorded a .318 attack percentage for the week.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday when they travel to Natchitoches, La., to take on Northwestern State. The match against the Lady Demons will begin at 7 p.m.
