For the third time in four weeks, a member of the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack special teams units has earned the Southland Football League's Special Teams Player of the Week honor.
Richard Daniels, a senior from Killeen Ellison, was named the Special Teams Player of the Week this week, after returning three kicks for 133 yards, including a 100-yard return for a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter. His return pulled SFA to within 37-30 of Northern Iowa.
Daniels' return for a touchdown was the first by a Lumberjack since Freeman Perry returned the opening kick-off against McNeese State for a score in 1996.
SFA has the week off this week, before returning to action against Southland Football League foe McNeese State.
